About

Infection Control is a practical, self-paced training designed to help healthcare staff prevent the spread of infection in everyday care settings. Participants will learn how infections are transmitted, how to apply standard and transmission-based precautions, and how to use PPE correctly. The program also covers hand hygiene, cleaning and disinfection, safe sharps handling, and what to do after an exposure incident. By the end, learners will be able to follow consistent infection-prevention routines that protect clients, coworkers, and themselves. This course is adapted from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services Division of Health Services Regulation and meets the state educational requirements for the adult/family care homes and other health providers. Upon completion of this course, a skills evaluation is required and must be completed in order to meet the DHSR requirements. Skills portion may be scheduled virtually with one of our instructiors via the Infection Control Check-Off session.
